Subject: Improvised Weaponry Wed Aug 25, 2010 8:58 am
Just wanted to point out that some folks don't carry "weapons", for whatever reason. Some good Improvised weapons that most people carry are as follows:
*Change/Coins in the pocket (this can be used as a distraction while entering for an attack)
*Belt or Scarf (these are very good weapons for chokes and "whipping" weapon)
*Keys on Keychain (these are also a very good distraction, just giving time to move in for the attack)
*Water/Soda Bottle (especially full, bottles can pack a wollop! Striking to the face with the bottom of a bottle will hit harder than you may think)
*Cell Phone (a cell phone can be used as an improvised 'brass knuckle', gripping it in the palm of the hand and punch)
~I've included a video using a T-Shirt defense, but a scarf would work just the same........Enjoy!
I loved that class on defense using the T-shirt! This is a very small amount of the techniques that can be used with the T-shirt or any other type of flexible weapon such as a belt, rope or whatever.
Here is a clip featuring one of the masters of flexible weapons, Ron Balicki, showing work with the sarong from the world of Silat:
You can get an idea of how deceptive something like this can be.
